HEADLINE: Interview with Lilith Mercury, Werewolf Hunter

The Blue Notes Interview with Lilith Mercury, Werewolf Hunter

SB: I understand that you're a Hunter, but you're also a woman. How do you differentiate the two?

*Lilith sits back and crosses her legs, considering SB for a moment before responding*

LM: It's never been a problem for me, really. I know that may sound strange, but I didn't stop being a woman when I became a Hunter. I'm just a woman who happens to track down rogue werewolves. It's a strange occupation, I'll admit ... but I still like to shop for lingerie.

Dating has its issues, of course. But that's just life.

SB: **Smiling and nodding as if I can relate.** Do you believe in happily ever after?

LM: Somewhere deep down, I think I do. I've had my heart broken more than once ... it makes trust difficult.

SB: Do you have any other hobbies?

*Lilith laughs*

LM: Sure. I mean, a girl can't cut up werewolves every day, right? I'm also an artist. I love to paint and write poetry. I also keep a sketchbook in my room for the nights I just can't sleep. Oh, and gardening. As you can tell, I like to stay busy. If I didn't have hobbies, I think I might go crazy sometimes. You can only see so much death before you need a bit of life to balance things out. I guess that's why I like to create things, like art, or watch my roses grow.

SB: Speaking of men...oh, we weren't speaking of men...well, we should be. **I chuckle to keep the mood light.** Speaking of men, what's the deal with this current love triangle you're in? What draws you to Alfred? And how does this affect how you feel about Marco?

*Lilith raises one eyebrow as she answers*

LM: Yikes. You're going for my throat. But you're right, we might as well be speaking of men, because I sure as hell was thinking about them. I don't know if I'd call my situation a love triangle exactly, but it certainly is complicated.

I'll be honest with you, I am in love with Alfred. I always have been in one way or another. I'm drawn to his strength. He's been a part of my life for so long ... I can hardly remember what it was like to not have him around. He's my friend, and partner ... but more than that, he's someone I can trust.

*Lilith sighs heavily before answering the next part of the question*

Marco ... I really wish I could tell you more about my feelings for him, but I haven't figured it out yet myself. He's not who I thought he was. I was led to believe that he was my enemy ... but when I'm near him, when I listen to him talk ... the pieces just don't quite fit. He's compassionate and kind. I never expected that. I also never expected to feel ... whatever the hell it is that I feel when I'm near him.

SB: How does Alfred feel about you being away with Marco? Or does he know you're away with Marco?

LM: Are you kidding me? If he knew he would kill him. And NO, I'm not going to tell him.

SB: **Hmmm, she doesn’t realize I didn’t say these questions were off the record. I smile.** Okay, here's my final question: Should we expect sparks to fly on the next full moon?

*Lilith rises to leave the room as she answers*

LM: Not unless they're coming out of the end of Alfred's gun. Are we done here?

SB: Well, I…I guess we are.

**Lilith has already left the room**

SB: Tune in next week when I’ll have another exclusive interview with a jaguar shifter whose trip to the jungle may just start another world war!

Character Interviews

I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing the characters of Loose ID’s newest release, Touch Me, Please Me. Sahara Baker is a Desirable Witch, a line of promiscuous and powerful women who fight for justice and mate for pure enjoyment. Desirables don’t have morals, they don’t have relationships and they don’t fall in love…or so they think.

Cedric Compton is a writer with quick wit and intelligent eyes. He sees beyond the surface to the real person that most of us hide. Cedric is a dreamer. He’s serious and he’s loyal. He’s just the kind of man an unsuspecting woman would fall for.

Sahara Baker

Q: Where were you born?

A: Mystic, Connecticut

Q: What’s your favorite color?

A: Lime green and lilac

Q: What’s your favorite food?

A: Shrimp

Q: What’s your favorite position?

A: Any one that I am in control of

Q: What are you looking for in a mate?

A: Size and longevity.

Q: What will you do for love?

A: Anything.

Cedric Compton

Q: You’re a writer, describe your ideal heroine?

A: One with inner beauty, strength and integrity.

Q: So outer beauty, sex appeal, none of that matters to you?

A: C’mon, I’m a man, those things are a given. But there has to be more.

Q: How do you separate what’s real and what’s make believe?

A: Feelings are always real. No matter where they stem from, they are substantive.

Q: Have you always believed in magic?

A: I’ve always believed in my imagination. Magic has been there from the start that’s why I write about it.

Q: Did you ever envision yourself falling for a witch?

A: [He laughs.] A witch would be the last person I figured myself falling for. But just as in fiction, anything in life is possible.

Q: What are your thoughts on the Phantoms?

A: They have a job to do, a purpose as do we all. Unfortunately, the Deisrables are commissioned to stop them.

Q: Speaking of one Desirable in particular…

A: Sahara Baker? [he interrupts]

Q: Yes, Sahara. Do you two have any future plans?

A: [His smile is broad.] We’re taking it one day at a time.

Q: And what is your relationship with Colina Devin?

A: [He shifts in his chair uncomfortably.] Colina is a close—a very close—friend. [His eyes twinkle mischievously and this reporter assumes the rumors of a threesome are true.]
